Barry Herman, CCM

General Manager

A native Floridian, Barry was born in Miami and raised in the Florida Keys, before moving to Tallahassee. He began his hospitality career in 1994 at the Governors Club, a private city club in downtown Tallahassee. Working his way through the ranks, Barry was promoted to General Manager and held that position until 2007. Before joining Interlachen in August 2012, he held the position of Assistant General Manager with Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables, Florida. Barry is a Certified Club Manager (CCM) and continues to be active in the Club Managers Association of America. When he is not working, Barry enjoys spending time with wife and their three daughters, and is an avid golfer.


Ann Grajeda

Originally from California, Ann relocated to the east coast as a young child. Before settling in Florida, she worked at Sunterra Resorts and Club Corp of America in South Carolina in their accounting departments. Ann has been the Controller for Interlachen since 2003 and is in charge of all member accounts and finances at the Club. She has the pleasure of being the guardian to her twin 8 year old nieces. In their spare time, they enjoy Girl Scouting and sporting activities and events, especially bowling and baseball.


Jonathan Guevara

Assistant General Manager

Born in Queens, New York, Jonathan moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the age of eight. His journey in the country club industry began in August 2008 when he was hired as the Food & Beverage Manager for Point Lake & Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.  In 2012, Jonathan accepted a position at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club/Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club as the Assistant Clubhouse Manager. Soon after in January 2013, he began at Interlachen as the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager and was quickly promoted to Clubhouse Manager in September 2014. Jonathan is a Certified Sommelier and serves as the Sunshine Region Committee Chair for the CMAA International Wine Society.


Emily Vurnakes

Membership & Marketing Director

After being raised in Ocala, Florida, Emily moved to Orlando in 2005 to attend the University of Central Florida. She studied Marketing and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2010. After spending three years as the Marketing Coordinator for the House of Blues Orlando, Emily joined the Interlachen team as the Marketing & Communications Manager in 2014. She was promoted to Membership & Marketing Director in December 2017 and now manages all aspects of both Membership and Marketing for the Club, including the website and newsletter. Her biggest passion is music and enjoys going to live shows and traveling across the United States. 





Sarah Rose Armstrong

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Executive Chef Sarah Rose Armstrong grew up in true southern fashion. Her mother cooked every meal from scratch and entertained frequently. While this had always been a large part of her life, Sarah Rose never imagined a life in the culinary industry.  She obtained a degree in Art History with a Business Administration minor from the College of Charleston. After graduation in 2009, she returned to Columbia, where she grew up, and accepted a job as the Baker and Assistant Manager in a popular cupcake shop. It wasn't until becoming established in the work field that she considered continuing this career. She attended the Culinary and Wine Institute at the University of South Carolina. In 2011, the Executive Chef at Forest Lake Club offered her a job. However, in 2015 she was presented with the opportunity to join the Interlachen Family as Executive Sous Chef. Sarah Rose's family still resides in South Carolina, where she visits as often as her schedule permits. She is Godmother to her beautiful 12 month old niece Camilla Clark. When not busy in the Interlachen kitchen, Sarah Rose enjoys art, reading and going to the movies.


Natalie Fitzgerald

Catering Director

Natalie began her food & beverage/hospitality career in 1980 where she worked in different levels of management, and gained experience in a multitude of positions. A native of North Royalton, Ohio, her passion of event planning brought her to Florida in 1987 where she continued her career in hotels and resorts. When an opportunity arose to join Interlachen in 1998, she accepted the challenge of working in the private club sector. Natalie is a mother to two sons, Spencer and Devin. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, reading, baking and astrology.  





Matt Long

Aquatics Manager

Matt was born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised between Orlando and Upstate New York. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Rollins College and eventually joined their staff as the Aquatics Director in 1993. Before diving in to the world of aquatics, Matt was originally from a retail management background with Rheinauers, Inc and later Church Street Station. Prior joining Interlachen in April 2013, he managed and built aquatic programs at the City of Oviedo, Winter Park Racquet Club and the National Training Center in Clermont. Matt's certifications include: USA Swim Coach, USA Track & Field Coach, and the American Red Cross (Lifeguard/CPR/AED and WSI Swim instructor and trainer).  




Jay Kennedy

Director of Golf

Jay Kennedy is a PGA Professional and the Director of Golf. He grew up on the coast of North Carolina in Morehead City and graduated from Guliford College. During his time there, he was a two-time All-American in golf and was inducted into the Guliford College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994. Before he came to Interlachen in 1987, he worked for Harvie Ward at Grand Cypress Resort for five years. He and his wife Valerie have two daughters Hannah and Kathryn.


Bryce Gibson

Golf Course Superintendent

Bryce was born and raised in Dundee, NY and grew up working on a family Dairy Farm. He attended State Universities of New York (SUNY) and earned his degree in Plant Science, with a concentration on Golf Course Management. Bryce moved to Florida in 2005 and began his career in Country Clubs. In November 2011, he came to Interlachen as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. After 7 years, Bryce was promoted to Golf Course Superintendent in August 2018. When not on the Interlachen golf course, Bryce enjoys golfing and visiting other country clubs around the area. He and his wife Lisa are die hard Florida Gator fans and enjoy spending time with their many pets.



Ron McKelvin

Facilities Manager

Ron joined the Interlachen team in June 2018 working in the Golf Department and was promoted to Facilities Manager is September 2018. Ron is retired from the United States Navy, and spent many years teaching High School Navy JROTC. During his teaching career, he served as an Auxillary Florida State Trooper for 13 years. He then served five additional years as a full time trooper in Volusia and Seminole Counties.
