Barry Herman, CCM

General Manager

A native Floridian, Barry was born in Miami and raised in the Florida Keys, before moving to Tallahassee. He began his hospitality career in 1994 at the Governors Club, a private city club in downtown Tallahassee. Working his way through the ranks, Barry was promoted to General Manager and held that position until 2007. Before joining Interlachen in August 2012, he held the position of Assistant General Manager with Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables, Florida. Barry is a Certified Club Manager (CCM) and continues to be active in the Club Managers Association of America. When he is not working, Barry enjoys spending time with his wife and their three daughters and is an avid golfer.



 

Brendan Clark 

Assistant General Manager
Brendan is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management. He began his Club Management career at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia after graduating from school and most recently served as the Clubhouse Manager at Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, South Carolina. Brendan is actively involved in the Club Managers Association of America and is working towards the designation of Certified Club Manager (CCM).  When he is not working, Brendan enjoys spending time with his wife, Samantha and daughter, Kennedy. Some of his favorite activities include fishing, golfing, cooking, and spending time in nature.
 

Wendy Thomas, CPA

Director of Finance

Wendy was raised right here in Winter Park, where she attended Winter Park High School. Go Wildcats! After graduating in 2003, she attended the University of Central Florida (UCF), earning an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a graduate degree in Accounting. She began her accounting career in 2010 at RSM, a public accounting firm here in Orlando where she worked in a variety of industries. While working there for a period of five years, she developed her passion for private clubs, working on them from Hilton Head, SC down to Naples, FL. Wendy has been working in the private club sector for the last seven years and is excited for this new opportunity at Interlachen. When not working, Wendy spends time with her daughter, Mackenzie, and enjoys engaging in different fitness activities and going to the beach.
 

Mikaila Mahoney


Membership & Marketing Director

 Mikaila grew up in Naples Florida and studied medical assisting while in high school. In July of 2016, she moved to Orlando to study Psychology at the University of Central Florida and a couple months later started her journey here at Interlachen. In her free time, Mikaila enjoys cooking dinner for her friends with her twin sister Michelle. When she is not experimenting with new recipes, she enjoys trying out local restaurants, and spending time outdoors.
 

Dennis Bebus

Director of Human Resources

Dennis comes to us from Minnesota after relocating to Florida with his wife and two daughters in the spring of 2021.  He has extensive human resource experience in the non-profit, corporate and military areas.  Dennis received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and Masters of Art in Human Resource Management from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.  Dennis recently retired from the Army National Guard after 23 years of service.

Natalie Fitzgerald

Catering Director

Natalie began her food & beverage/hospitality career in 1980 where she worked in different levels of management, and gained experience in a multitude of positions. A native of North Royalton, Ohio, her passion of event planning brought her to Florida in 1987 where she continued her career in hotels and resorts. When an opportunity arose to join Interlachen in 1998, she accepted the challenge of working in the private club sector. Natalie is a mother to two sons, Spencer and Devin. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, reading, baking and astrology.  


 


 

Dan Giroux, CEC

Executive Chef

Dan was born and raised in Michigan and began his culinary career at an early age of 15. He has worked in fine dining restaurants, convention centers, and sports venues, until he accepted his first Executive Chef position at a private country club. Dan notes that he has been very fortunate throughout his career to be able to expand his diversity with food through culinary travels and continuing education, as well as having had the opportunity to work with other great chefs from around the globe as the Executive Chef for the North American International Auto Show. When he is not at work, Dan enjoys spending time at home cooking for his wife and four children, he also enjoying fishing, hunting, and playing golf.

Jay Kennedy

Director of Golf

Jay Kennedy is a PGA Professional and the Director of Golf. He grew up on the coast of North Carolina in Morehead City and graduated from Guliford College. During his time there, he was a two-time All-American in golf and was inducted into the Guliford College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994. Before he came to Interlachen in 1987, he worked for Harvie Ward at Grand Cypress Resort for five years. He and his wife Valerie have two daughters Hannah and Kathryn
 

Bryce Gibson, CGCS

Golf Course Superintendent

Bryce was born and raised in Dundee, NY and grew up working on a family Dairy Farm. He attended State University of New York (SUNY) and earned his degree in Plant Science, with a concentration on Golf Course Management. Bryce moved to Florida in 2005 and began his career in Country Clubs. In November 2011, he came to Interlachen as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. After 7 years, Bryce was promoted to Golf Course Superintendent in August 2018. When not on the Interlachen golf course, Bryce enjoys golfing and visiting other country clubs around the area. He and his wife Valerie enjoy fishing, boating and spending time with family and friends.

Jeremy Jack

Director of Tennis

Originally from London, Director of Tennis Jeremy Jack grew up surrounded by the game of tennis. He spent his childhood in the UK where his father introduced him to the sport. Jeremy moved to the United States and attended Vincennes University in Indiana and Northeastern State University in Oklahoma where he played college tennis all four years. After teaching professionally for some time, he took a break and enlisted in the United States Army. Jeremy proudly served 5 years and also graduated from the prestigious Army Ranger School.  Jeremy is a certified USPTA Elite Professional as well as a USTA High Performance Coach. Family is an important part of Jeremy’s life. He has three children, two daughters and a son, who live all over the United States. Jeremy loves music, plays guitar on a regular basis and has even played in several bands over the years. He is looking forward to spending more time on the beautiful beaches on both coasts of Florida, as well as the Disney parks. 
 

Justin Allen 

Director of Fitness & Aquatics

Justin is a native of Mobile, AL, and has been in aquatics for 12+ years as a Lifeguard, Swim Coach, Swim Instructor, and Aquatics Director. Justin started his career with the YMCA of South Alabama as a Lifeguard and Assistant Swim Coach in 2008. After a couple of years with the YMCA, Justin accepted the Head Swim Coach position at Heron Lakes Country Club. Since 2010, Justin has over 10+ years of working in the hospitality industry with stops at the Country Club of Mobile, Atlanta Athletic Club, and the Country Club of Birmingham. Justin is thrilled to bring his excitement and experience to Interlachen Country Club. Justin is also happily married to his beautiful wife, Megan, and has two toy poodles, Chip and Dale.

Ron McKelvin

Facilities Director

Ron joined the Interlachen team in June 2018 working in the Golf Department and was promoted to Facilities Manager in September 2018. Ron is retired from the United States Navy, and spent many years teaching High School Navy JROTC. During his teaching career, he served as an Auxilary Florida State Trooper for 13 years. He then served five additional years as a full-time trooper in Volusia and Seminole Counties.
